Lawnswood Technology Limited is a UK embedded-systems and industrial-electronics company. We design and build the RAP Systems range of HART communications products — intelligent gateways and modems that connect smart field instruments to the systems and people that rely on them.

What we do

We specialise in the HART communications protocol and in rugged, low-power embedded hardware for demanding industrial environments. Our products bridge HART field devices to Modbus hosts — SCADA, DCS and PLC systems — and give engineers secure access to their instruments locally and from anywhere in the world. We serve process control, fiscal flow measurement and embedded markets.

The RAP Systems product line

RAP Systems gateways and modems are designed and developed in the UK and built for the panel and the field: DIN-rail mounting, 24 V DC power, and industrial temperature range. Our latest gateway, the HG1v4, is configured entirely from a web browser — no PC software required — and adds HART multiplexer support, secure remote access and automatic, signed firmware updates.

Engineering and support

Beyond off-the-shelf products, we offer embedded software and firmware development, hardware and PCB design, and consultancy on HART, automation and flow-measurement systems. Every product is backed by direct engineering support from the people who designed it — including one year of complimentary email and ticket support with each gateway, and all software updates.

Security by design

Our products are engineered around modern security-by-design expectations, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the IEC 62443 industrial-automation standard: signed firmware with automatic rollback, outbound-only remote access with no inbound ports, and documented, version-pinned releases.
